The roller probe of traditional contact-type rail head

rangefinders smooths the measurement curve excessively, automatically filtering out
minor
changes, resulting in inaccuracy. It cannot distinguish the position of the switch rail
for
combined profiles of small cross-sections; moreover, the contact-type device cannot
measure
the light band and cannot provide light band analysis. However, our non-contact rail

profile rangefinder adopts advanced laser scanning technology, which can truly restore
the
microscopic morphology of the rail surface, accurately distinguish the characteristics
of
the switch rail, and simultaneously collect light band distribution information,
completely
solving the limitations of contact-type measurement.

The time to measure the speed at a single point on the
track
has been reduced from several minutes to a few seconds. The operation can be completed
remotely on a tablet:
First, place and fix the device on the track; second, click "Detect" on the tablet to
extract the complete profile.
The measurement process is fast and simple, using the principle of optical non-contact
profile measurement without additional manual intervention. All detection processes are
automatically controlled by the computer, and profile extraction can usually be
completed
within 1 second.

multiple separate tools, including profile measurement (damage determination - rail wear
meter), combined profile (switch rail reduction value - reduction value meter),
and light band width distribution measurement (light band ruler). The whole machine
weighs
only 5kg, can be easily carried by a single person, and completely liberates the labor
force.
